After watching his wonderful football skills several European clubs showed interest in him. But Macauley Chrisantus revealed that his interests lay in English Premiership club Arsenal and said that he would one day play for them in the near future.

In October of 2007, Macauley Chrisantus flew to Manchester to take a look at the city, the club and its stadium. But his move triggered rumors that he is going to join Manchester United despite his love for Arsenal. Adding fuel to the fire, his father let the cat out of the bag saying that his son Macauley Chrisantus would join a club that would nurture his talent and hone up his scoring abilities. Amidst the melee, Bundesliga club Hamburger SV walked away with the football whizkid.

Macauley Chrisantus is a Nigerian football player who currently plays for Hamburger SV. He is regarded by many journalists and football experts as the best Nigerian player of this generation. He is also regarded as one of the best players from around the world.

Before he signed for Hamburger SV, he was being chased by a lot of well-supported teams like Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, Manchester United, Arsenal, A.C. Milan, FC Barcelona and many others. But in the end, Hamburg secured his signature citing reasons that it is much easier to gain first-team football with a club like Hamburg than one of these giants of world football.
